This campaign supports direct transportation access for people facing urgent barriers. It also invests in the tools, local leadership, trusted support, technology, data, provider networks, and coordination that help communities move from fragmented options to dependable mobility systems.

Transportation barriers are often the hidden reason people miss care, lose work, delay treatment, skip groceries, miss school, or become isolated from the people and places that support them.
A missed ride can become a missed dialysis treatment, an interrupted cancer-care plan, a prenatal appointment delayed, a job lost after repeated transportation challenges, or an older adult becoming more isolated at home.
But communities are not starting from zero.
Across the country, there are healthcare providers, employers, transit agencies, volunteer drivers, nonprofits, public agencies, local businesses, funders, and neighbors already working to help. The missing piece is often coordination, flexible resources, trusted navigation, shared data, and sustained investment.

Every funded trip can help reveal where people are falling through eligibility rules, where care is interrupted, where funding ends too soon, and where local systems need to work differently.
Catalytic infrastructure investment can go further. Depending on the sponsor, project design, geography, eligibility requirements, and available funding opportunities, philanthropic and corporate investments in shared mobility infrastructure may help unlock or be matched with an additional 2–4 times the original investment through state, federal, local, healthcare, transit, or other partner resources.

But every trip can also reveal something larger.
It can show that a veteran has a serious transportation need but does not qualify for an existing benefit. It can show that a transportation grant ends before postpartum care, cancer treatment, dialysis, or rehabilitation is complete. It can show that a community technically has transportation available, but the service does not work for an early shift, a long-distance specialty appointment, a wheelchair, a stroller, a child car seat, or a return trip after care.
Catch a Ride uses privacy-protected, aggregated trip and rider-support information to help communities understand where transportation systems are working—and where people are still falling through the gaps.

Individual rider data will not be sold, publicly displayed, or used in ways that compromise dignity, safety, or trust. The planned website strategy already frames data infrastructure as a way to improve reporting, equity measurement, community learning, and policy-relevant insight.
Care Should Not End Because a Grant Cycle Ends.
For people managing pregnancy, postpartum recovery, cancer treatment, dialysis, rehabilitation, behavioral-health care, or chronic illness, transportation is rarely a one-time need.
Care may require weeks or months of recurring appointments, pharmacy trips, follow-up care, counseling, specialty visits, treatment monitoring, and family support.
Yet transportation funding is often temporary, fragmented, limited to certain appointment types, or unavailable after an initial grant, referral, benefit period, or pilot ends.
