North Texas Catch a Ride (NCTCOG)

Dallas County and northern Ellis County, Texas | Coming Soon
Opening more doors to independence across North Texas.
About the program
North Texas Catch a Ride is an Enhanced Mobility initiative supported by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) and delivered by Feonix – Mobility Rising through the Catch a Ride Network. The program is designed to help older adults and people with disabilities connect with existing transportation and, when suitable options are unavailable or inaccessible, access supplementary accessible community transportation and volunteer-driver services. Implementation and referrals are being established for Dallas County, with a focus on southern Dallas County, and northern Ellis County.
Who can ride
The FTA Section 5310 project is intended for seniors and individuals with disabilities who need transportation help in its approved Dallas County and northern Ellis County service area. Mobility navigators will review the person's needs and available transit, paratransit or other transportation options before determining whether an additional program-supported ride is appropriate. Exact service boundaries, scheduling availability and trip eligibility must be confirmed during intake. The program should not be described as open to all residents or as a replacement for existing paratransit.
Where rides can go
Mobility navigators will help riders identify and use available transportation to healthcare and rehabilitation appointments, groceries and other essential shopping, community services, employment or education opportunities and other approved destinations. Where existing transportation does not meet the need, eligible riders may be connected with supplementary accessible microtransit or an approved volunteer driver, subject to funding, service geography, provider capacity and program rules.
Program goals
Connect seniors and people with disabilities to existing transportation before adding new trips; expand mobility navigation and coordinated trip planning; strengthen a community volunteer-driver network; offer supplementary accessible transportation where service gaps remain; improve independence and essential-service access; document unmet demand and trip outcomes; and support a sustainable regional mobility network.
Partners
North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG), program administrator; Feonix – Mobility Rising / Catch a Ride Network, service provider; and participating local transportation, accessibility, community-service and volunteer-driver partners as they are onboarded.
Funders
Federal Transit Administration Section 5310 — Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities, administered by the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG). The project is supported through an executed federal subrecipient agreement.

Help a neighbor stay connected and independent.
The program includes volunteer driving to supplement existing accessible and public transportation when suitable options cannot meet a rider's needs. Volunteers serving Dallas County or northern Ellis County may help older adults and neighbors with disabilities reach approved destinations. Required screening, training, driver eligibility and reimbursement details will be shared during onboarding.
How to get a ride
